Frequently asked questions

Can I use Director Class AI for free?
Yes. The open-source AGPL-3.0 license is free for research, personal use, and open-source projects. If your project is also open-source, you never need a commercial license.
When do I need a commercial license?
If you use Director Class AI in closed-source software or a SaaS product, AGPL-3.0 requires you to release your full source code. A commercial license removes this obligation.
What does "Founding Member — locked for life" mean?
The Founding Member tier is limited to 10 spots at CHF 290/yr. Once you buy, that price never increases for as long as you renew. When all 10 spots are taken, this tier closes permanently.
Can I switch tiers later?
Yes. Upgrade from Founding Member to Professional or Enterprise at any time. The price difference is prorated.
Do you offer volume licensing?
Enterprise tier covers unlimited users and projects within one organisation. For multi-subsidiary or OEM licensing, contact director.class.ai@anulum.li.
Is there a free trial of the commercial version?
The open-source version IS the full product. There is no feature difference between open-source and commercial — only the license terms change. Try it on PyPI, then buy when you ship.
