The coordination bus is free and open-source. Every paid tier adds permission, hosting, support, or compliance — never a line of code. The package on PyPI is the whole product; a commercial licence changes the terms, not the code.

under the AGPL-3.0
Free for open-source projects and personal use. The whole product, self-hosted on your machine.
The catch →Ship it inside a closed-source product or a hosted service and the AGPL copyleft makes you open your whole stack. A commercial licence removes that obligation.
Every tier ships the same code — each one adds permission, hosting, support, an SLA, or compliance, never a feature the free build withholds. Prices are in USD; Polar.sh (Merchant of Record, Stripe-backed) shows each buyer their local currency and handles VAT.
The top tier brings — Managed Federation Gateway
Cross-organisation coordination trust.
Multiple firms' hubs coordinate over Ed25519-signed, mTLS-pinned, ACL-scoped federation frames without either side running or trusting the broker. We operate the gateway; each organisation keeps its own hub and data local; the gateway brokers only scoped cross-domain frames, deny-by-default. Multi-hub partition detection, namespace-ownership routing, and bundle-exchange support. The only productised cross-organisation coordination fabric on the market.
A fully hosted, usage- or seat-priced coordination hub for teams that want the bus as a service. In planning — register interest and we will tell you first.
Yes. The open-source AGPL-3.0 licence is free for research, personal use, and open-source software. If your own project is open-source, you never need a commercial licence.
When do I need a commercial licence?
If you embed SYNAPSE in closed-source software, or run it inside a hosted service whose source you do not publish, the AGPL-3.0 would require you to release your full stack. Pro (one developer) or Team (a company) removes that obligation.
Is the paid version different from the free one?
No. The package on PyPI is the whole product. There is no feature gate — each tier adds permission, hosting, support, an SLA, or compliance, never code the free build withholds. Try it free, buy a licence when you ship something closed-source.
Why USD? Can I pay in CHF?
Prices are quoted in USD, but checkout runs through Polar.sh, which shows every buyer their own local currency at pay time. We are a Swiss entity and can issue a CHF invoice on request — just email protoscience@anulum.li.
What does the Managed Federation Gateway do?
It brokers scoped, Ed25519-signed, mTLS-pinned coordination frames between separate organisations' hubs, deny-by-default. Each side keeps its own hub and data local; the gateway only relays the cross-domain frames both sides authorise. It is the Business / Enterprise tier — contact us for a quote.
Can I pay with Stripe or PayPal, or get an invoice?
Checkout runs through Polar.sh (Merchant of Record, so VAT and withholding are handled). Prefer a direct Stripe or PayPal invoice, a purchase order, or CHF billing? Email protoscience@anulum.li and we will send one.
Need a custom arrangement?
OEM licensing, academic or non-profit use, cross-organisation federation, or just an invoice in a particular form — get in touch and we will find the right terms.
